CMA Roars 2014-2015 Out the Door!

2014-2015 Yearbooks!
As of 4:00 pm on Thurs. 5/21, there were only 11 yearbooks left for sale at $25! Stop by CMA and get yours while supplies last! 
Checks or cash can be brought into the office.
Summer Latchkey
Summer Latchkey @ CMA!

Looking for something fun for the kids to do this summer?  Hurry and reserve one of the remaining spots today!  Enrollment forms are available in the office and the library.  Students must have completed Kindergarten and/or not turned 13 by May 26th. 
Enrollment is open to ALL students from Wichita and surrounding areas.  We will be open from Tuesday, May 26 - Friday, August 7.  Our hours will be from 6:30am – 6:00pm weekdays. The cost is a $10 registration fee (due with enrollment) and $16/day (for 6+ hours) with a minimum requirement of paying for 2 set days a week. 
There is not a summer food program at CMA, so students will need to eat breakfast before they come and bring a sack lunch. We will provide two snacks a day. (am & pm) 
We will be taking two field trips a week.  Children in attendance those days (Tuesdays & Wednesdays) will attend the field trip and be charged the activity fee.   We will also be having several guests coming in to do activities with the kids.

CMA TSA finally Receives $5000 from Verizon!
The day they had been waiting for, since January, finally arrived for the CMA TSA Verizon Innovative App Challenge Best In Region winners - They were presented their $5000 STEM Grant Award by Bob Henderson, Associate Director for Verizon!
The team won the award for being named as a Mid-West Region Finalist. The award is to be used to further STEM programs at CMA. A portion of the funds will help pay the chapter's expenses to the TSA National Conference, in Grapevine, TX, June 28 - July 2.

Welcome to McAuliffe K-8 Academy
Christa McAuliffe was a public school teacher from New Hampshire who was selected to become the first teacher in space.  Her energy and love for students and teaching made her an outstanding educator.   The possibilities are endless as to how we can incorporate her character traits,  love of science, and helping students make real life connections with the skills they are learning in our classrooms.
