CMA's Technology Student Association was notified on February 16th, that they had been named 'Best in REGION' for the Midwest Region, in the Verizon Innovative App Challenge.
"The Midwest region was made up of Pennsylvania, WV, Kentucky to Kansas and all of the Great Lake states," noted TSA Advisor Shane Koranda. "The kids have come up with a great idea and I'm really hopeful that the Verizon Engineers will see that and pick them Best in Nation."

Friday the 23rd, the team represented their app proposal, via Webex with Verizon Engineers and MIT Media Specialists, to talk about the nuts and bolts of their proposal. "Even tough they were not chosen as the Midwest Champion and given the title of 'Best in Nation', the students will forever be known as the Best in State and Region, as well as winners of a $5000 award for CMA!"

Welcome to McAuliffe K-8 Academy
Christa McAuliffe was a public school teacher from New Hampshire who was selected to become the first teacher in space.  Her energy and love for students and teaching made her an outstanding educator.   The possibilities are endless as to how we can incorporate her character traits,  love of science, and helping students make real life connections with the skills they are learning in our classrooms.
